Broken-hearted Girl

by dontlookpassmytears   Mar 16, 2010

She sits in her favorite spot all day
Right by the window hoping that one day she would see him walking down the street.
And as the days goes by
As the days turn into the nights.
She never moved out of her spot.
She was waiting and waiting
Until the days turned into weeks and the weeks
turned into years.
And now 19 years later she still sits in that favorite spot of hers and patiencely awaits for her father to greet her with open arms and explian to her why she was never loved like a daughter should be by her father.

A moving short poem that I do believe many young girls can relate to at having separated families. I live with neither my father nor mother so i know how this feels and you have portrayed deep loneliness in these lines. I was taken in by the first line until the last and you did a great job describing everything else in the poem. Great job and keep writing.
