The Price of Who We Were

by jescelle   Mar 20, 2010

You watched it all go down first hand,
The rise, the fall, the crash.
Watched me circle but couldn't land,
And mocked the burning ash.

You saw my eye's and felt my fear,
Unable to say just yet.
You listened but you couldn't hear,
Gambled, and lost the bet.

Dizzy tears, a shattered heart,
Regret forgotten and blurry.
Lost in time spent far apart,
So long ago in a hurry.

Funny how pain can stick with you,
Years after love is lost.
How wanting someone to pay they're due's,
Can come at such a cost.
