Tonight I stood out in the rain
Letting it fall all on my face
I watched the stars, in search of smiles
But I knew id be there for awhile
I planted my feet and took my stance
I gave the sky my one last chance
I could see her face in between in all
Then to my knees I began to fall
I tried to reach and pull her in closer
I began to scream and lost composure
You were so close yet so far away
And the rain still fell, blurring my way
The ground was wet as I fell forward
The rain was telling me, it was so straightforward
This isn’t real and I knew she was gone
The rain was a memory all gone wrong
I stood back up and looked to the sky
Saw her fade and started to cry
The rain had help to sooth my fears
But still only added to my tears
