That little girl is me

by Jessica   Mar 23, 2010

I look at the photo in this book
I see a bright blond haired, blue eyed girl
of the age of 6 at least, staring back at me
With her hair blowing softly with the wind
and that smile is ever so bright

I turn the page as I'm still going through
And i see a girl of the age of 10
Her blond hair has been braided behind her ears
But the smile on her face...
you can tell it was almost fake

the next few pages are blank
With only the ages on them
When I finally see another picture
I am shocked at what i see

Its a picture of a girl
Who looks so...broken
Her hair is jet black, and her eyebrow has been pierced
and her beautiful eyes show sorrow and misery

Trying hard not to cry
I turn the page
I see that young girl again
But her hair is now brown

She is with someone else
Maybe a friend
She has a smile on her face
But its funny how the eyes show that smile's fake

Its funny how that girl used to be happy
yet she cant remember a day in her life
Her life's been full of strife
She hopes everyday she could just die

The pain fills her day after day
The tears come and go,but the pain just stays
As I look in the mirror
and in the eyes i see..
That little girl is me
