The Lure of Night

by Poet on the Piano   Mar 23, 2010

I am pushed by eager early birds
who force the pregnant sun
to drive alongside
coffee highways.

It's just not my shot of adrenaline.

I prefer the solo country road
where I can lock away
yesterday's milk mustache
and pass on sparkly smiles.

I am in love with her radiance.
