Thoughts Of A Stubborn Mind

by Skyler   Mar 24, 2010

Missing you is like a flower pining for the sun,
During the darkness of a long summer night.
Yet knowing fully that loving you could not be more right.
If only this could all be undone.

I wish you could be me for a day.
So you can feel the deep emotions I have towards you.
And you could witness what I see when I think of you too.
Maybe then, you'd understand what I've been trying to say.

Perhaps you would finally see,
With a unforeseen sign,
And the finality of a changed mind,
The kind of man I know you to be.

You're sweet, loving, remarkably kind-hearted, and quite irresistible.
I cannot force you to distinguish who you truly are.
Though, I have already gotten you this far.
Now, if only you could admit that you really are simply incredible.

The girl who gets to call you hers finally,
Better love you for all that you are for she is the luckiest one.
You should know I will be happy for you when the time comes.
But I still hope that girl will end up being me.
