A fight for the glory
One must be casted a side
One must live in the shadows
One must always hide

Two baby boys
Twins from the start
But their future is not easy
Their relationship falls apart

Gabe is the all-star
He is the favorite of the two
But Greg, he is different
Maybe like me and you

Greg was the unlucky one
Getting beat up by their dad
Although when they reached 5th grade
They found a father they never had

Greg kept getting hit by their step-dad
His mother went along
Gabe got fed up with Greg's behavior
Greg was getting weaker more than strong

Greg kept on cutting
While Gabe became a football star
But don't forget their blood dad
Who helped Greg buy his first car

Their step-father made them pay bills
A job was the key
But the brothers didn't want to do it
They wanted to be free

Once in high school
Both playing ball
Getting closer to their father
Greg learned to build a stronger wall

But Greg couldn't take it
Being abused everyday
So Gabe and he moved out
Just wanting to get away

Both living in different places
Both working and Pizza Hut
Their relationship got stronger
Greg no longer needed to cut

Becoming a little more normal
The two twin teens
Lost their father to suicide
No one knows what this means

No one knows why he did it
Greg hid his pain so well
At the funeral he met his half-brother
His heart broke and just fell

Gabe is already a manger
Only working at Pizza Hut for a year
Making $16 an hour
Greg's pay doesn't come near

How Greg's made it through this
Is a true mystery to me
He is so strong and looks in the future
Of what he wants to be

Of course there have been bad times
Greg's been suicidal and scared
But if I were him, I'd be dead
Greg is a person of rare

Their childhood and teen life
Is the worst I've ever seen
But they both are true fighters
If you know what I mean

I got a chance to get to know one of them
The darker one of the two
Greg and I had a relationship
