Save me

by kalelrobin   Mar 26, 2010

Some one told me that I don't have a heart,
I consume then I dispose in the trash,
The truth, the truth is that I don't know what love is,
They tell me that love , they loved but I cant understand it's all a drag,
So yeah , don't blame that I love you , don't I don't understand what you mean,

Sing to the beat , when you face that shrill ,
I will hold your hand , I will sing to you,
I will finish your will and stop and pay that bill,
This is me , yeah this me , a walking breaker.

Hold my hand, coz maybe you might define and accept,
That this boy likes you and you like him back ,
That is my hope and dream , take me back,
As I learn , as I have been shown , I will give this promise I give to you.

Although I use 'I' to refer to me, to tell a tale. My poems which lack pronouns are the poems that I want to make truly relatable.

Yes, I understand that. I use pronouns, too. My point is that it's a nice practice for a poet to do something different every so often. I'm not looking for you to defend or redeem yourself, I just thought I'd give you some constructive feedback. But alas, it's your choice.

I use "I" because I want it to apply to anyone who reads it , as it becomes his or hers in heart in her head , as she reads it at that particular moment ; she/he takes possession of it . It's about the poem , the message not the wording ; that is why readers love them.

I've read a few of your poems. All that ever catches my attention is I, I, I, you, you, you, me, me, me.

Try something different, you might find that you like it.
