Destiny's Inscription

by Poet on the Piano   Mar 31, 2010

It's funny how two-hour-delays pop up on the most unexpected days. Of course, sleep tempted me to the point of no regrets and I easily gave in. But as I laid back down, cuddling close to my spring scented comforter, I realized how much extra space there was. Stretching out like a snowflake ready to fall, I dismissed the thought of a hand cradling my hair, tangled in a hypnotic trance. Those memories were not part of my past, but of a future I created inside the core of magical imagination.

.....Solitude permitted me to rest but not without knocking repeatedly on the door of dreams.

An expressionless vast sky stole my gaze. I could faintly see, far away in the highlands, fog unveiling itself upon snoring pine cones. The Tuesday sun struck a quarter after nine like a clock destined to travel. Its forceful but gentle sword of light pierced through the mystical density, leaving me golden-eyed.

.....Carry on daughter and know what you are about for tears will not push you forward.

I blotted out the sound of the classic rock radio that pounded on the rough gravel. I shifted sideways, forgetting for a second the accompaniment of my eldest brother. All I knew was what unfolded ahead. I wondered if the angel on earth was my lover. Could secrets win a part in this intriguing mystery? I searched with all of my might; and for those sincere moments he was the dawn, sending luscious rays toward me, so I might climb atop.

.....The shimmering spotlight now played with my shadow and a passionate fire rose in my soul.

.....Someday I will find the right words to whisper above.
Someday I will know the other half of our love song.
.....Someday I will abandon my still lifeless solo and join harmony.
