Marrying Addiction

by Not Enough   Apr 3, 2010

Hey baby, hey sweetie, you know I love you.
So let me lay this out before you say "I do."
Before we fool around I just want you to know.
There's only one way this relationship will go.

I love you so much that you won't be able to leave.
I'll hurt you so bad and cause you so much grief.
But the thing is, you won't even be able to tell.
You'll be so high you won't notice how far you fell.

It only takes one puff to make your mind fly.
It only takes one tab to make your body high.
Feel me as you inject me through your veins.
Do you feel that? You know that's not pain.

But please, don't stop now, common' a little more.
I know you want me baby, common' another score.
Unfortunately now, this is where it turns bad.
Because this part won't make you so glad.

Now it's a need, a yearning, a thirst for my juice.
And no matter what, you can't stop this drug use.
You can stop whenever you want, you'll say.
But It's just us, admit it, you're hooked, you'll pay.

And you'll pay, and pay, until you have no more.
No more money to spend on that last score.
And what happens then? You'll turn a few tricks.
Because now you'll do anything to get one more fix.

And then one day you'll realize you messed up.
You want to ditch me, walk away, but guess what?
You won't be able to, you can never leave.
I even left my mark on you, lift up your sleeve.

You think you can leave me, I'm already in your brain
You won't be able to handle the withdrawal pain.
The puke, the panic, the cold sweats, the hot chills.
The only way it will stop is a little more me, more pills.

And you realize either way you can't take it anymore.
You'll give up, take me back, and just lie on the floor.
But, baby, just remember I told you from the start.
It even says in the contract "until death do us part"
