Your Recluse

by Mimed Lovette   Apr 4, 2010

How am I suppose to hear
the words you left unspoken.
Truths waiting to be uncovered;
the lies just leave us broken.

Each day passes by, not one as simple,
but rows me along the edges
where conjectural midgets cry
over time's tarnished hinges.

Would everything I do sufficient
to cover up our past
-the oracle forged together-
with a layer of strewn dust.

Memories serve the platter
of reprehensible denies
yet are they enough to salvage
the answers my heart pries?

To me this is a poem that allows the reader to kind of relate it to something in their own lives, which is what we all try to accomplish. The best poems are the ones that have room for different enterpretations and not lock the reader down and force him/her to draw the same conclusion as the author.

I really like this poem a lot, couple of words in there that made me a laugh a bit, but that's just me and it has nothing to do with the poem, so pay no heed to that.

I'm thinking about adding you to my favorite list as clearly you have a lot of great poems I have yet to read.
