How Long 'Til My Sun Comes?

by Poet on the Piano   Apr 9, 2010

I imagine that gleaming city lights,
are falling on your curly strands of cinnamon apple hair.
Oh, how they flicker then burst forth

...like a microscopic meteor.

You somehow can fit into each street corner,
I grow jealous because I know
you could make a rainy Thursday shine,

...just all in time.

You never fail to make me lose each thought,
that's tucked away deep inside of my mind
growing anxious legs desirous for a run

...I'll chase away your bad dreams.

Each night I kiss the slanted moon goodnight,
in high hopes that you rest beautifully on the other side.
Maybe we'll collide once upon a smiling sky

...I will wait for you.
