I Can Shape My Future

by Poet on the Piano   Apr 9, 2010

I feel stretched like a lazy house cat
yawning on the happily lit porch,
yet how can I so freely
choose when I work and when I dream?

I pay little known attention
to the small voices who manifest force:

what comes first
my duty towards God
right from wrong,

good vs. evil.

In the long run
I know I can't be continuously indecisive
or I'll be plainly seen

as the fool still living in the middle.

My Knowledgeable Counselor
will strengthen my mind
and aid by granting wisdom.

I won't always walk the best path
but that is how

one learns;

life does indeed move on.
