Colours of Love

by Poet on the Piano   Apr 9, 2010

Red is for those sweet sung apples
dipped in flowing caramel-
we nibble on their delicate skin
until our lips just happen to meet.

Orange is for those mellow sunsets
tranquilized by true love's kiss-
every evening always well spent
on silent walks along the beach.

Yellow is for those spring daffodils
handed out to stun and smile-
the way we run our fingers across
touching smooth sunny stars.

Green is for those strands of grass
brushed from gentle murmuring wind-
oh how they love to whistle
and cha-cha hand in hand.

Blue is for those soothing skies
reflected in the pensive ocean-
if only we could simply fly
and take a cup of meditation.

Indigo is for those breathless eyes
taken along to merely hypnotize-
thoughts in-depth can never hide
when we sneak a considerate gaze.

Violet is for those tasteful lilacs
touched by an angel's aroma-
someday we'll grow a thousand
watching our children blossom.
