The Place I love

by Lady Nik   Apr 9, 2010

Painful were the times
we spent so far apart.
Now the grave is the only
place I find your face.
The scent of you has faded
from your pillow.
You don't linger in the halls
anymore. You don't follow
me in the zephyrs of
dusk.

Photos of us seem incomplete
now, like we were never
together. Like you never
existed. I try so hard
to pull you back, but I
always feel you slipping away again.

I don't want to go back to
that day. The day you were
taken from me. From life.
I'm safe in the place I love--
my dreams where I keep
pieces of you alive.

*I was listening to "Under The Bridge" by Red Hot Chili Peppers. One of my all time favorite songs :]

This was very sad and it is true that when someone you love passes away it's like they were never there or the memories of them start to fade and even pictures of you and that person don't seem real as you said. Good Job.

After time memories of a loved who passed away will begin to fade, they never go away though. Always there when you need them. Well done.
