If Only.

by pixie   Apr 17, 2010

If only for a while, I could taste his kiss.
The same kiss that is a phantom upon my lips of misery.

If only for a while, I could hold his hand.
The same hand that grasps my heart in this world of disarray.

Then maybe I could laugh my laugh of tinkling bells. My laugh of chirping swallows.

If only for a while, I could hear his voice.
The same voice that remains a whisper to me these nights.

If only for a while, I could smell his scent.
The same scent that surrounds me as I bring myself to my heights.

Then maybe I could see this world as a beautiful place. Not as a man ruined battle ground.

If only for a while, I could see his face....
His beautiful face..
The same face that makes me go on through this terror.

If only.
