I am the one to be blamed.

by Nil   Apr 18, 2010

Regardless of circumstance
I am the one to be blamed
why won't you go talk to them?'
My response, what would it change?'

When looking at the situation
The characters on the stage
I see a lot of stars-
and extras just the same

I am an extra
with just a line or two
how are you today?'
OH I'm good, how are you?'

Any other response will get the same answer,
Whether it's I'm great or I've been better.'

After so many times of trying to be
Just as social as the people around me
I've learned from trying and failing miserably
That sometimes it's not worth the effort
When rejection is the only thing
Presented after trying-

When you blame me for the fact
Others just don't care, and accuse me of being rude
uncaring, and cold.
Maybe you should try being me,
for just one afternoon, you could understand why
I no longer try to be this outgoing person
that I was not born to be.

I have accepted this.
Why can't you?

I am not a social butterfly.
I don't like going to coffee or going out to lunch.
I feel awkward just standing in groups sometimes.
Last time I checked, being shy was not a crime.

If someone wants to try to get to know me,
I will gladly let them... I don't bare my heart to everyone I see
Because that's how I became...
The person you now see.

-Just some thoughts, nothing more~.
