This Is The Question

by Vanessa Reyes   Apr 20, 2010

To be silent or not to be silent- that is the question.
Whether one may speak one's mind or not to say
anything at all. Words may hurt, but lies are worse.
There are times when silence has the loudest voice.

One may only be silent because there's so much
to say, no place in which to start. But others who
just keep talking have so little to say, they don't
want the talking to stop.

........................sometimes its just better to stay
silent. But there are bite marks on the tongue for the
things never said. Should I always be the girl to listen?
Never the girl to talk. Should I stay quiet on the account
of the other? Or should I speak a lie, wherein the truth
resides?

Is the truth of words really just for people that aren't
creative enough to come up with a better story? But if you
don't understand my silence. What makes you think you'll
understand my words.

Saying nothing, sometimes says the most. But what's better, words that draw tears, fear, or that draws a smile and happiness? Words create hopes and dreams. But silence, it could either destroy or intensify those hopes and dreams.

Silence is the true friend that never betrays. Unlike speech
that can cause pain in ways that one can only imagine. But
speech is important, in which we speak our thoughts, make friends, defend ourselves.

To be silent or to say what is on one's mind. Is a choice itself.Silence is as deep as eternity; speech is as shallow as time. But I will always be the silent girl and that would never change.Because I choose when to stay silent and when to say. But for everyone else, speak your mind, even if your voice shakes.
