Soul Mate

by Raychil   Apr 27, 2010

I sit in the dark
The seconds tick by
I wait in my bed
Longing to die

Sleep does not come
No solace for me
My eyes rest wide open
But there's nothing to see

No moon through my curtains
A bulb in my light
Just silence and darkness
To hold me tonight

I smell the thick air
I taste his cologne
Still staining this bed
Still tainting this home

My soul ripped in half
And breath after breath
It waits to join
Its mate in death

What a sad verse. You sense of loss came through very strongly here. Good flow and rhyming.

Very dark, very sad. Your word choice was flawless, and the pictures you created were very vivid. Wonderful write, 5/5!

Aboslutely loved it. Very forceful, yet sweet.
