Envenomation

by Viola   Apr 27, 2010

Love bit into my heart,
Forcefully-
Sucking the poison out.
Oh, what a deed!
The teeth marking my veins,
Splitting them and allowing the blood
To flow freely once again.
Ruby stones trickling one after the next,
Like children down a slide.
I hold my breath--
Wait for the moment they tumble,
The moment when the venom can
No longer be imbibed away.
The snakes win.
Oh my heart- you've lost again.
