Unfelt Poem, Felt

by NotCryingForHelp   Apr 29, 2010

I read a poem one day
A person, now grown old, recollected his childhood days.
the poem was written with a peace of mind.
it said:
"summer days by the pond
Mama and daddy could never be never wrong
Grandmas fried chicken on Easter Sunday
Sister's dreaming about 'someday' and 'one day'
all memories of things that last.
I'm happy to remember the years that have passed."
It made me wonder,
Then made me cry,
To think when i grow old,
I wont have these things to write.
When my restless soul has long retired,
from what in my past may I be inspired?
I can only count on one hand
The good things so far
Things i can recognize today,
from up close and afar.
