Ashes

by Nobody   May 5, 2010

Winter's harsh hand, crushes flowers
That begin to bud, denying their bloom

Shoulders of great mountains forcefully break
A tornado's disordered dreams of freedom

The bulldozers iron fist brutally assault
An ancient tree's stubborn roots,

Sweaty men capture a child's every ambition
& began dismantling them piece by bitter piece

I pray for the flowers to with stand winter's touch
I pray for the tornado to gain an unbendable will

I pray for the tree to retrieve its ancient strength
I pray for the child to increase the courage to believe

I pray for the day when the greatness will
Arise from the ashes of the abominations
