The little girl sits in the corner,
Waiting for the arrival of her father.
As her tears of fear
Trickles down her pale cheek,
She gazed into the mirror,
Wondering what has happened to the cheerful little girl.
The door finally opens,
Trying to hide her sadness,
She cheerfully took Daddys slippers,
And timidly laid it by his feet.
Their eyes started to meet,
Her hopes went high,
But Daddy quickly shuffles pass her,
And flung her his tie.
With quivering lips,
She ran to the bathroom.
And gazed into the mirror,
Wondering what has happened to the cheerful little girl.
Outside the wooden door,
She heard Daddy playing with her dog.
Her tears began to flow more and more.
With a heavy sigh,
She dried her tears and walked out the door.
She went to the kitchen and took out their dinner.
They sat down in awkward silence.
The little girl took out a shiny little button and said,
Daddy, this is for you. I bought it with my allowance.
Daddy took the button and tossed it aside.
Dont waste money on useless things was all he said.
Sadness flooded the little girl.
I only thought youd look good with the pretty beryl.
Daddy ignored her and took a bite of his dinner,
He gagged and said How can you make me eat this trash?
The girl said I tried my best to make it better.
He whipped his cell phone out,
And began to order take out.
The girl cleared the table and threw away the food.
She washed the dishes with her tears,
And ran to her bedroom with a devastated mood.
She gazed into the mirror,
Wondering what has happened to the cheerful little girl.
The little girl tip-toed upstairs,
Shyly asking Daddy to tuck her into bed.
Daddy glared at her and started to get mad.
Get the hell out of my face.
The terrified little girl walked away in a very fast pace,
And flung herself onto her bed.
Sobbing,
She wondered why Daddy hated her so much.
Hoping that they were best friends,
So her sadly torn heart would mend.
She gazed into the mirror,
Wondering what has happened to the cheerful little girl.
