Shameful Sarcasm

by Stephanie   May 14, 2010

Desolate roads, frozen fingertips, and drooping hearts -
embarking with me as I pass road signs left and right.
Attempting to walk towards something a tad familiar,
yet, something fresh; something I can maybe semi-love.
Or wait? Is it possible to love something the way I am?
With a cliche, broken heart thumping with each step?
Cause you abandoned me on this empty road tonight,
and my fingertips have never felt so cold and lonely.
You could've at least handed me a glove or two or five;
Once more, I apologize that my sarcasm put you to shame.

Confusion hums,
Anger just burns,
sympathy yearns,
and love tempts.
Yeah, we're dangerous.
And now that I'm alone here tonight, I have to say -
Once more, I apologize that my sarcasm put you to shame.
