The Siren Lure

by Larry Chamberlin   May 14, 2010

If I can fasten myself to the main mast,
Bound solely by focused attention
To this unwavering light, the North Star, as it shines;
And yet take in through peripheral context
The Gestalt; and feel the flux, the standing wave,
Then, the Siren Lure should be just so much noise
On the open sea on my voyage to the Dawn.
