The Caged Bird Cries

by Kalee nichole   May 14, 2010

Does the caged bird really sing? Does it chirp and whistle away? As it slowly grows older...the bars bending closer with every passing day? Does the caged bird really sing? As it flaps around with its unused wings? Do you find it very fair...to sit the cage by a window and watch it stare? Does the caged bird consciously sing? Or is it a lullaby to drift it into dreams? It murmurs its lonely tune...and fills a once silent room. You smile and gather as it gently croons...from the dawn of morning till the still of noon. Time passes and ticks on by as the caged bird imprisoned begins to cry. It looks down and whispers its pleas as you exclaim with joy "come look...come look" the caged bird sings!
