Face On A Page

by Some Random Human   May 14, 2010

I signed my life away,
now I say, "Yes master",
this is a dark day,
thought I could get cash faster,
but in the end,
I got to realize,
they're not my friend,
they're wolves in disguise,

I'm not just a face on a page in a magazine,
I'm a real life, breathing human being,
this record deal stole my soul from me,
the record company supports slavery,

Late at night you dream of being with me,
well I dream about just being a face on the street,
you think that it's all glitz and glam and I am super wealthy,
but I just feed, and clothe, and put shoes on the executive feet,
signed my contract with my soul,
now I'm bled dry,
buy a lot, dig a hole,
kiss it all goodbye,
now I'm done, this was fun,
but I've had too much,
grab my gun, on the run,
just waiting for death's touch,

I'm not just a face on a page in a magazine,
I'm a real life, breathing human being,
this record deal stole my soul from me,
the record company supports slavery,

I wish that I lived a normal life,
but they own me for ten more years,
wish I had a home and a wife,
but for now it's hotel rooms, and cheap beers,
take it from me, don't sign a deal,
or they'll try to kill you,
it's a nightmare, but it's real,
the moment on stage is all that can heal you,

I'm not just a face on a page in a magazine,
I'm a real life, breathing human being,
this record deal stole my soul from me,
the record company supports slavery,

I signed my life away,
now I say, "Yes master",

I'm not just a face on a page in a magazine,
I'm a real life, breathing human being,
this record deal stole my soul from me,
the record company supports slavery...
