The Angel's Strife

by Kirra   May 16, 2010

Once upon a time
In a land far away
Everyone took for granted
What they got each day

On a rainy day, in that place
An angel landed on a man's doorstep
She was broken and tattered
With only one wing left

The angel was so beautiful
Even in her fallen glory
But she was lonely and hurt
And this is her story.

The man was awed, but evil
Even surprised, he thought of a plan
She Lay on the floor sobbing
Because she'd had wings, she never learned to stand

Helping her to his bed
He treated her kindly
Nursed her back to health
And she followed him blindly

It took much time
So many years
And though her wounds caused her pain
The angel did not cry

And when she was finally healed
The angel would do anything for the man
And so she fell into his piteous trap
And he continued with his plan

And so it started

At first it was work around the house
And next came the yard
The angel did it all
And the man had won the game of cards

One day the man said to the angel
"I am not young, and I have no wife,
I wish I had one like you."
And he increased the angel's strife

The angel so pure
Said she could hep him
"I could be your wife, though I know not what it is"
And so she married him on a whim

That night he took her purity
First she lost her ability to fly
Now everything else was gone
The broken angels cry

And as the angel faded away
The man stole her immortality
This isn't a happily ever after story
As you can see

And so it ended.
