Mirror

by Some Random Human   May 18, 2010

I'm sitting here on my own,
wondering why I'm alone,
but that answer's getting so much clearer,
because I'm standing face to face,
with that thing I call disgrace,
I'm looking at it here in the mirror,

Yes I know that I'm to blame,
for the hurt, for the pain,
and I know it's such a shame,
that I wouldn't take a hint,
you said that you'd walk away,
you said that you couldn't stay,
you said things were not OK,
but I guess I just ignored it,

I'm sitting here on my own,
wondering why I'm alone,
but that answer's getting so much clearer,
because I'm standing face to face,
with that thing I call disgrace,
I'm looking at it here in the mirror,

So many days and weeks gone by,
so many more tears that I'll cry,
so many times I'll wonder why,
you had to pack your things and leave,
yesterday and tomorrow,
every day filled with sorrow,
now my life feels like Bizarro,
what used to make me smile makes me grieve,

I'm sitting here on my own,
wondering why I'm alone,
but that answer's getting so much clearer,
because I'm standing face to face,
with that thing I call disgrace,
I'm looking at it here in the mirror,

Yes I know that I'm to blame,
for the hurt, for the pain,
and I know it's such a shame,
that apparently I'm insane,
and you don't want to play this "game",
I ran out of things for you to gain,
so you up and ran away,
I guess that's just the way,
the story goes,

I'm sitting here on my own,
wondering why I'm alone,
but that answer's getting so much clearer,
because I'm standing face to face,
with that thing I call disgrace,
I'm looking at it here in the mirror,

I'm sitting here on my own,
wondering why I'm alone,
but that answer's getting so much clearer,
because I'm standing face to face,
with that thing I call disgrace,
I'm looking at it here in the mirror...
