Vengeance Is Mine

by Rusheena   May 24, 2010

How can you condone this behavior any longer

As you crumble by the minute, his heart grows stronger

The martyr was once a becoming role

Unfortunately, battered pride has taken its toll

The fool's face is in your future if you choose to indulge

And your heart is full of hatred far pass the ignorant bulge

Your words to him are useless, while they give him more confidence

But even pure Vulgarity wouldn't improve the consequence

His ego seems to grow with every breath that flows

It's too late to play denial; everyone knows

Live with it another day, or make vengeance your mate

There's no room for a conscience; hence, choose his fate

Rusheena, I'm not a fan of rhyme, maybe it's just something that I realised I'm not overly great at, unless I have days and days to think about it, and I don't add myself to the poem...I like subtle rhymes, here and there, but in a way like this, it's not me...if I write in rhyme, it's either when I don't mean to, or I've spent days on it,

but I think you did it really well, it is so smooth and the story behind it, is one of true pain, this need to save someone, to hurt to save in a way...

I really liked this piece, the tone and the darkness to it...it was really intriguing.
