There never once was a you and me...

by Ash   May 28, 2010

If you could ponder over your own self worth,
Fleetingly accepting every truth that really hurt,
Eyes swollen and red as the tears fail to stop,
Knowing those last few words made you drop...

Down to such a place you can hardly stand,
Your own face to see crumbled are broken ends.
Days but linger on with an unpleasant taste,
Cast aside all hopes as it all turns to waste.

How long before I turn into a distant memory,
Hoping you'll save me from this torture and agony.
Help me rise up from the depths of a darkened pit,
Hardly aware of the wrists now slit.

Oblivious to all else but the pain that echos so deep,
Torturing and nurturing false emotions in her sleep,
It's hardly a game when you see a bleeding heart,
Trapped beneath demonic thoughts ensuring a false start.

It's hardly worth a try when I fall with every thought of you,
Can't seem to get through days when every picture painted blue,
Now sculpted to be blackened with grievances of the heart.
How unkept are those feelings that rise up on certain days,
Making me relive how it feels to be in love/ infatuated amongst silly words at play.
Why is it so hard to let go what can never be,
"There never once was a you and me...."
