More Than Meets The Eye

by Poet on the Piano   May 31, 2010

Breathe leisurely,
be calmed by the potent drizzle
that showers words of encouragement.
Set down your burdens at my feet
I am only here because I love you.
Understand we can overrun this forceful fear
and carve a better road along the way.
Words may not flow freely
but hear what wisdom I hold,
do not leave right now.
You aren't alone in this bloody battle,
there is a soldier who will fight with you
never straying far away.
Break your lonely shield and trust,
the worldly rush won't know how to function
if you aren't present.
I will not lose you,
again.
