Day By The Sea

by Littlewriter-a   Jun 2, 2010

There was a cold breeze among us, only very few
walked the shores.

Wind whipped constantly, blowing my hair in every
which way.

The waves were high and fast as they hit hard against
the rocks.

If you were close enough you could feel the splash as
drops touched your face.

Two surfer's wait in the water, searching for that
perfect wave.

The one that will send them towards the shore, instead
of towards their graves.

The sea was dangerous, with roaring waters all around.

Ten foot waves at least, hitting with quite a loud sound.

Foaming white cresting at the top, wondering when the
storm would stop.

The sky was dark above my head,

The wind chilled my bones, the encryptions I read.

The sea was angry, brewing a storm, its smell hung in
the air.

The weather man said, "You have been warned."

Dangerous and crazy, but so cool to watch,

The waves kept crashing.

Loud sounds around me as I looked out to sea,

Then I remembered....devil's punchbowl I'd just seen.

Red rocks streaked with orange, the structure was a
true shaped bowl.

The water flowed in and out, catching itself in a
whirlwind below.

The water churned below me, sucking it down,

My mind was at ease, peaceful and calming,

Even though a storm moved around me.
