Broken dreams

by Maria   Jun 2, 2010

You make it damn well near impossible to live,
but you make the thoughts of being dead silent.
Every word you ever spoke of,
every promise you ever promised,
means nothing now.

I held onto you for so long,
in hopes that one day you would finally notice.
Notice that I'm not like many girls,
when I promise to never hurt you,
I actually mean it.

Though day after day i had tried so hard,
you just never seemed to care.
Now here i lie, with broken dreams,
unable to mend the damage you and I have caused.

This is has another feel to it than the previous I read and it works for you. This has more of a "how did it come to this" kinda feel yet a finger of blame can be seen here aswell, which is something that's really hard to pull off without sounding whiney.

You kept the reader reading on even though at first glimpse it's a regular love poem, but you rounded it off so nicely and it turned out to be something different. This I have nothing but respect for. A favorite addy if I ever saw one.
