I Bred Rhythm Into Your Pulse

by BrokenREALiTy   Jun 14, 2010

I traced your face with tears,
rose petals staining the white lilies of your hands.
For your wrists, I bred butterflies,
painting colors across your palms but
it was bees that swarmed within your arms.

My fingers stained your lips with time,
powdered charcoal etching scriptures in your eyes.
For your veins, I bred koi fish,
clearing pathways through your body but
it was the night sky that consumed your words.

My lashes grazed your skin with coal,
dim ashes cleansing the burden upon your feet.
For your heart, I bred jaguars,
racing warmth along the rib cage of your smiles but
it was stars that clogged your lungs.

Wow. It has been a long time since I've posted here. I don't know whether I like this piece or not, but enjoy.
