Imperfect lovers

by charlene   Jun 15, 2010

We had an imperfect love,
but we dreamt of the perfect life.
we could have made up for it
by connecting as one.

we were as different as north and south,
yet i knew we were meant to be.
but when things got tougher,
i really wished you had stayed with me.

now we are just friends on two parallel paths;
no intersections,
no interactions,
living our own lives apart.
but is that what you really wanted,
or do i deserve better.

our imperfect love was never lesser than a perfect one.
at least to me, it never was and never will be.
'cause i still love you, my imperfect one.

    This was really good! the first two lines captured me immediately and i like how you described your lives as being parallel lines, with no intersections, very clever! it was beautiful! good work :D
