Amidst the darkness,
A flame shall burn;
Ablaze with the tenacity
of a hardened soul.
Among the shadows
of the lurid night
A radiant fire burns;
Impervious.
And when the echoes
of the cold malevolent abyss
close in, merciless,
Indomitable
Your flame shall burn,
Bright as ever before
Igniting the hollow sky
The veil of shadows are singed
And from the ashes
The phoenix shall rise;
Always.
I wrote this for my best friend, along with a picture, for her birthday, i feel she has been through so much and yet still remained so strong despite it all. She is my phoenix :)
