Satan's Delight

by Timothy   Jun 19, 2010

I haven't been inside since I was a child,
It's lies to man and the Divine that I have compiled;
God knows what is truly in my heart,
I say I'm coming back, but when will I start?
As time moves on, it's only myself that has been beguiled.

Occasionally I stand on the street and stare,
It's been twenty years since I have stepped foot in there;
God must be calling, but something intervenes,
Perhaps the Devil's there, putting up a screen?
Coercing me back, back into the arms of despair.

My feet don't move, although I try with all my might,
The Light is beckoning, but I'm standing in the night,
I can see God holding open the door,
He's asking and He's begging, I can hear Him implore!
Yet, I'm too much a coward, and it's Satan's delight.
