It was Friday night and there was nothing to do in town
The sun was out, 8 o'clock; it was too early to lie down
So she borrowed her daddies truck, picked him up at 9
Drove out to the country, snuck right past the drive-ins line

They parked the 4 door, laid blankets and pillows in the bed
He wrapped his arms around her; on his shoulders she placed her head
He was into the movie; she was fascinated with the sky
It was fun, romantic to her, alone with her guy

It was chilly, they lay down, and she kissed his cheek
A moment of comfort between them, neither of them had to speak
And a thought sparked in her mind, "let's not worry about the cars"
He on top of her, they made love under the stars

Amazing, blissful, a thrill for him and her
They rocked the night with the passion they had stirred
She fell asleep in his lap, he caressed her hair
Neither one forgetting of the night they had spent there

She woke up the next day and wrote a country song
For her and him one day to smile and sing a long
