Qwerty

by abracadabra   Jun 21, 2010

Honestly
there is so much crap inside my keyboard
just squatting under the keys
rice and crumbs
dust and fluff and wiry fibres
flakes of skin
fingernails too
probably

I shake it a little
tilting it this way and that
and blow between the keys

searching for their stories
but they remain unbudged
only to listen
to this noisy tapping

I think I can see a tiny coin in there too
shining like a trapped bubble in the dark distance jhijujujjuhhjmj
(Couldn't get it out.)

Poems (good ones, too) really ARE, often,
    just lying around the house...;~)
this piece echoes my own experience
so totally (well, except for the coin part) that
I am chuckling the knowing chuckle
    of the knowing...........

A refreshingly quirky qwerty poem. Your choice of subject is always interesting and unique.

I must admit this made me laugh too! I loved your humor so much, brilliant! My first impression of the poem was this has to be about a keyboard, because I definitely recognized the qwert because I had to learn that over & over in elementary school so I knew where the keys all were! The ending was great, it definitely gave the reader one last laugh! Very original!

Oh my!!! I really did "LOL" at the "jhijujujjuhhjmj"

I almost think this should be in the "funny" category, even though I know it's dead serious! It's so rare to read an EXCELLENT, non-plagiarized funny poem.

I use my canned air about every other day and I think I get half a cat's worth of his fur out each time!

    Great work!

The "Honestly" and the "probably" from the first stanza are charming. Actually, this entire poem is charming. All of your poems are charming.

    Screw you!

Just playing. I must say though that the last "jhihhjjhjjmj" part was my favorite.

    Definitely a 5 for 5'er my friend ;)
