Sacrifice

by Shalkan   Jun 22, 2010

Filling with glass
the mouths of the babies
spilled out of her womb
Tender and pleading
eyes searching wide as she carries them
she limps to their tomb
All tangled up in self-sacrifice
bargaining with god
her children were doomed
But the law of the land
seems to cry out
their deaths came too soon
and you'll be sorry
finger-painting with blood
purging out all sorts of hues
life growing faint
slipping by
spilling out of her womb

Wow,...I can definantly feel a hidden, deeper meaning to this. I'd like to say it's a great poem, if not for the gruesome content! haha..it was very well thought out and the imagery struck me while reading. Nice job!
