More Than A Feeling

by Poet on the Piano   Jun 23, 2010

I could listen to your heartbeat
subconsciously
and memorize the melody,
passionate strumming
that harmonizes our absurd words.

I know I shouldn't want
as enthusiastically as I do,
I know I shouldn't sing
as carelessly as I do,
I know I shouldn't live
as adventurous as I do,
but time has no hold on me.

Eternity won't let go of its promise.

When you become the only color
I visualize,
what else can suffice?

Our love is like seasons,
we can never predict everything
and sometimes our dreams might sway,
yet this is how we grow.

The best part of living
is understanding we will not stand alone,
stuck in traffic jams
of the heart.

There could just be
a miracle
waiting to tango.

    Stunning poem!
The last stanza is the epitome of what the end of a poem should be, powerful and concise.
    Thank you
