Windowed Barricade.

by Alaska907   Jun 24, 2010

She peers into the window, seeing a shaded reflection.
Stomach filled with hollow knots, not realizing the deception.
Lifting a hand to wipe away, the silhouette she sees.
Every inch of her body tense, losing strength piece by piece.

Looking into the window, he sees her beauty as she stands.
Mezmorized by her doubtful thoughts, he wishes to touch her hands.
Lifting one palm slightly, pressing it upon hers through this solid sheet of glass.
He can't help but to lift his lips into a smile, as he thinks about her curvaceous mass.

With each breath she becomes weaker, her oxygen depleting.
She tells herself "I'm hideous", as a tear rolls down her cheek.
Her shadowed reflection taunting her, not letting her see.
See who she really is, who she was always meant to be.

With each breath he becomes stronger, needing to be beside her.
Knowing who she is meant to be, if only she would open her eyes, believe.
Peering into the depths of her soul, he can't stand this separation.
The invisible sheet of sand, a road block of deception.

She looks into the window, not able to see straight through.
Only witnessing each little flaw, and each insecurity too.
So many tears begin to fall, until she hears a tick.
Instantly she stops, as the tick turns into a click.

He can't bare to see her like this, so vulnerable and weak.
Escaping this window filled prison, its all that he seeks.
Touching the window, she hears the sound.
Reaching for the lock, there's no turning around.

The window begins to disappear and fade.
Leaving them with no barricade.
As they stand there frozen, with no where to go.
He reaches out his hand, promising he won't let go.
