The Agony of Life

by James   Jun 29, 2010

What makes it worth our while?
To live in a world of pain
In Sickness
And Betrayal?
Why do we suffer in the Agony of Life?

Do not succumb to the endless taunts
Do not let your weakness show
Seal your heart and your mind
Only to let weeds grow

Or your walls will fall
Like bread to the wind
What will you have left?
Naught but despair?

This meaning of life,
To this Agony called Life
Is to love another
more than yourself

To distinguish the difference
Between Lust and Love
This difference
Is what separates us from animals
To know what is Love
To know what is Lust
When you know Love
The warmth
The joy
The sensations
Then you know it to be true

This is the meaning of life
This agony called life

The idea behind this is that throughout all the hardships we have in life, love makes it all worthwhile.

This is indeed a wonderful piece... Life is always great...you just have to keep your optimism burning and trust God...Everything happens for a reason. Good job for this dear poet...God bless you!
