To try, or not to try:that is the question,
Whether I should try to let my heart feel
Something it has never known,
Or to protect myself from the pain I know will come.
To try, ah, what a beautiful thought.
To think that life could be so simple.
To say that love is easy enough to simply try
And automatically get it right.
To not try would be so easy.
To tell him I don't need him would be the lesser of two pains.
For me to walk away before my heart grows too fond
And he breaks it into a million fragile pieces.
If only to feel one moment of joy
Of being in his arms and knowing he will love me forever.
But that is just another promise that would be broken,
Another night to cry.
Maybe I will find out one day that it's not worth it.
The pain and heartache of so called "love"
Or maybe I will find that love is worth the pain.
But I doubt that it makes sense in the end.
