A young heart

by megan   Jul 13, 2010

A young heart flails helplessly underneath a pulsating chest
beating furiously when finally attention is paid by the best

Slowly decreasing are the beats, as this heart is lonely once again
so young, so innocent, this heart has already felt so much pain

Outside this tender heart and chest are pleading eyes
glistening at every one of their lies

A young girl awaits a promise to be kept
so when one is made, she no longer has to fret

But as youthful as this young heart may be, her knowledge is excessive
and her eyes expressive

Yet no one's there to catch her when she falls
as she's slowly learning to build up walls

A young heart so innocent and frail
unprotected from the world as her parents are of no avail
