Mirrors

by fakesmile   Jul 23, 2010

Glasses are shattered, this mirror is broken
kept picking up the pieces still hopin
to restore the image that we once were
but each time I tried the wound grows deeper.
Every dent represents the words you left unsaid
while I turned my back on the tears I should've shed
These cracks remind us of our past mistakes
what once was an inspiration now turned into heartbreak
Is holding on to you really worth the wait??
Or should I just start over and have a clean slate
You know we used to burn so brightly together
but lately we find ourselves with no drive or desire
My stomach would always turn every time you speak
but every word you say drains my body and makes me weak.
These glasses are shattered, this mirror is broken
kept picking up the pieces still hopin
to remind myself that youre not the person you once were
