Can I Have This Dance?

by huddy   Jul 26, 2010

I saw you wade across the red carpeted floor
You walked so gently my heart began to pound
This fragility, a princess in white robes
Can i have this dance,
Can I have this dance with you?

She shone like a glow worm and her innocence showed
Prettier than anything, I have to take you home
You see I come from a far and this is how we roll
So can I have this dance,
Can I have this dance with you?

Mine isn't lies, it's true as it sounds
I will wait for this dance up to the next round
You move like a swan wading in lillies
You shine so bright for you dance like a queen
............So let me have this dance; your hand in mine
And dance through the night forever in a rhyme

You'll be my star and I'll be your sky
Can I have this dance,
Can I please have this dance with you.

I like the part about, "Can I have this dance with you?" I have a friend at work who uses that phrase about; "This is how we roll". I have started using it myself. :)
