Wasn't Fair

by A Phoenyx in Flight   Jul 26, 2010

If I close my eyes
I can feel your memory
wrapping your arms around me.
Even though I was a baby
we were so close.
Why did you have to leave this world
and leave me here on my own?

Cousin Jeremy it wasn't fair to me
Or any of us.
The way you took your own fate
into your own hands.
Now I'm all alone
to deal with this pain.

Every July 25th is a day of sadness
when it should be of happiness.
It was your birthday.
I see the picture of the time I last saw you.
I cradle it and cry
Because it's the only thing I have left of you.

Cousin Jeremy it wasn't fair to me
Or any of us.
The way you took your own fate
into your own hands.
Now I'm all alone
to deal with this pain.

As the tears run down my face
I get more and more Irate.
You had no right to do what you did.
You took my cousin away from me.
Now I'll never know what kind of man you were.
Oh how I wish
You hadn't be selfish.

Cousin Jeremy it wasn't fair to me
Or any of us.
The way you took your own fate
into your own hands.
Now I'm all alone
to deal with this pain.
