My Friend, the Night

by Rusheena   Jul 27, 2010

* Inspired by a picture of a dark fall night*

What beautiful kisses the dark, morning wind blow me

As the bright eyes light a path for my feet to see

The velvet audience watches in silence

They stare, in awe of the ripples' compliance

The children of the root give a standing ovation

The now black blades wave their hands in appreciation

All ends well as the show comes to a close

I take a final look at how the shiny grin glows

My bliss exceeds its limit as I prepare to retire

For this is a mere whisper of our Father's power
